Pharaoh Tutankhamun comes to life
Tutankhamun — The Immersive Exhibition takes visitors into the heart of ancient Egypt, where gods awaken in the land of the pyramids and temples rise before your eyes. Cutting-edge technology, including VR and immersive projections, creates a lifelike and unforgettable experience for all ages.
One of the highlights is the VR metaverse, where visitors can walk through an extraordinary virtual world. The music for the experience was composed exclusively for this project by René Merkelbach, known for his work with Efteling, Krezip and Racoon.
A unique immersive experience
The exhibition combines entertainment with education. Visitors will learn all about Egyptian civilisation and the age of the pharaohs, with Tutankhamun taking centre stage. The discovery of his lavishly furnished and almost untouched tomb on 4 November 1922 made British archaeologist Howard Carter world-famous overnight. The exhibition tells his story, with Carter himself guiding visitors through this extraordinary discovery.
Step into a virtual world
An interactive experience transports visitors to Tutankhamun’s burial chamber in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor. Here, visitors can explore hieroglyphic writing and immerse themselves in the fascinating world of archaeology. Discover life-size treasures for yourself, just as Howard Carter did in 1922.
In the virtual reality section of the exhibition, visitors become the main character on a journey through the winding passages of the Book of the Dead. An extraordinary, educational and remarkably lifelike experience.

The treasure rooms deserve a special mention. Here, visitors can discover beautifully crafted replicas alongside a selection of original artefacts dating back as far as 4,000 BC. These include offering tables for the deceased, funerary figurines (shabtis), statues of noblemen and worshippers, and a 3,000-year-old necklace once worn by someone close to the royal court.
On loan from the Félix Cervera Archaeology Gallery in Barcelona, these rare objects offer a fascinating glimpse into the beliefs and rituals of Tutankhamun’s world.

Tutankhamun — The Immersive Exhibition was created in collaboration with leading Egyptologists and historians and offers a wealth of educational and informative experiences. From historical documents and original artefacts to meticulously crafted replicas, the exhibition takes visitors on an immersive journey through time that is suitable for all ages.
Tutankhamun — The Immersive Exhibition is a must-see experience and will be in Amsterdam for a limited time only, at a truly unique location: the Olympic Stadium. A vast exhibition pavilion is being built on the stadium’s field, designed to provide maximum comfort for visitors.

The exhibition is housed in a comfortable, fully covered pavilion of more than 2,000 square metres in the heart of the stadium. The pavilion is heated, ensuring a comfortable visitor experience whatever the weather.
